CAPITALISM...ON TRIAL!
Aaaah you say.. 'about time' .. let's sink the boot into those huge corporations...THEY are the reason there is so much deficit around.. (speaking particularly of the US context)
Actually though, it's not *Capitalism* as in the free market economic system that we are putting on trial here, its simply graft, corruption and greed.. aided and abetted by powerful politicians which has nothing to do with the capitalist free market economy.
Let's pick on... GE !!! ooooh yes! GE that mega corporation which made $14.2 BILLION in global profits last year, but paid ZERO tax ! This is mind boggling. it's so hard to even process this.
But wait!...there's more. It so happens that GE is a favorite of the current Obama White house! oops ..errr.. but you were putting CAPITALISM on trial here.. and Obama is a 'man of the people.. the battler..the working man'...right ? errr..."no"...Obama is a man who want's to survive politically and knows that without huge corporate donations and funding.. it aint gonna happen. To get those corporate donations.. you must be *nice* to them.
Now..for a fuller list of the blatant abuse of both the political process and the social contract, see this vid where independant Bernie Sanders lists these "Economic Crimes against Humanity" (my words not his)

The Quran......on TRIAL!
Well...I suppose everyone and their dog will be jumping onto this story since the reactionist outrages in Afghanistan to Pastor Terry Jones placing the Quran on trial, convicting it and burning it recently.
Strange how such a thing in a remote and insignificant place in the USA can cause such a reaction in other countries which result in 'the nearest white/American looking/supporting/representing' people being slaughtered by raging mobs.

| Raging Mob of Muslims in Afghanistan. |
The ADL plans to put the Quran on trial also, but we don't plan to burn it. Our 'trial' will be in the real world where real courts/tribunals are used to combat the more unsavory elements of the faith of Islam (as we see them)
The issues we will be focusing on are:
1/ Does the Quran permit child sexual abuse?
2/ Does the Quran permit spouse abuse/domestic violence?
3/ Does the Quran permit sexual abuse of captive women?
4/ Does the Quran advocate violent overthrow of non Muslim states?
5/ Is the character and behavior of Muhammad worthy of emulation and suitable for a civil society?
Other issues might crop up, but those are the easiest to prove. (and I mean 'prove')All in due course....not today. Let us however observe, that the violent reaction of Muslims in Afghanistan seems to say something about the core values of the religion itself. It's remeniscent of the Danish Cartoon outrage and the reaction to Salman Rushdie, and Geert Wilders and recently the death threats against Tommy Robinson of the English Defense League.
We are in the process of putting "MultiCulturalism" and "Progressiveism" on trial. Legal action has been launched against Ron Merkel QC (former Federal court judge) for insulting white/Anglo Australians on the grounds of their/our race. Professor Andrew Jacobowicz is under *warning* for similar offenses. (we are awaiting his response to that warning regarding offensive terminology used in his blog) If he fails to comply with the warning, legal action against him will follow thereafter.
Who has time for all this ? Well..it sure is a challenge.

The Toben v Jones case-Holocaust denial and insulting Jewish people.
Dr Frederick Toben had material on his website "The Adelaide Institute" which certain Jewish people found offensive on the grounds of their race.
Complaints were lodged, the case heard and Toben was convicted.
THE CASE.
Justice Branson’s orders restrained Dr Toben from further publishing information which conveyed the following imputations:
A. there is serious doubt that the Holocaust occurred;
B. it is unlikely that there were homicidal gas chambers Auschwitz;
C. Jewish people who are offended by and challenge Holocaust denial are of limited intelligence;
D. some Jewish people, for improper purposes, including financial gain, have exaggerated the number of Jews killed during World War II and the circumstances in which they were killed.
DISCUSSION. I want to look closely at the law, and the point "c" above. It might seem pedantic, but I've recently found that Courts and Judges and Lawyers are VERY pedantic about legal issues.
RDA section 18c (relevant part)
(1) It is unlawful for a person to do an act, otherwise than in private, if:
Was Branson Correct ?
Now.. in the judgement, Justice Branson (who I think happens to be Jewish) agreed that what Toben said about Jews who are offended or challenge Toben's denialism being of limited intelligence was contrary to the Act.
But wait... let's look at some grammar here.
In the sentence "Jews who challenge/are offended by" is qualified by "are of limited intelligence" but clearly (to me at least) the limited intelligence had nothing to do with their race, but everything to do with their inability to see Toben's point of view. So.. his 'offensive statement' could equally have been said about 'any' group of people or animals. "Pink colored Koala's which challenge the idea that there was no large scale killing of Koala's are of limited intelligence" ie.. it's not because they are koala's but because they have limited "intelligence". The racial or species tag is purely coincidental.
"White Australians who deny that Aboriginal massacres did not occur.. are of limited intelligence"
Has nothing to do with their whiteness, but it might connect with their lack of education about history. So, their intelligence may or may not be in focus. Not their 'whiteness' though.
Had he said "Jews who challenge holocaust denial are 'bigoted'" it might be a different story.
Well..that's my take on it anyway.. I'm happy to hear contrary arguments on this. Specially from Lawyers.

Congratulations!
GREENS are EXTREMISTS!
Yep...it's official.. the Labor government is now calling the Greens out for what they are.. 'extremists' and in my view they are of no earthly good to the future of Australia.
One in the eye is better than 1000 in the ear.. as they say.
GREENS=EXTREMISTS.
