Hope

Hope:
You think will you clear your exams even after having not done well.
Hope:
You think you won't get screwed even after coming home really late.
Hope:
That he will realise his mistake and come back to you.
Hope:
Thinking it will work out inspite it being obvious it won't.
Hope:
Your dad will not find out about the scratch on the car.
Hope:
Thinking that everything will be alright.
Hope:
That friends won't notice the bite on your neck :P
Hope:
Skipping a signal right infront of the cop.
Hope:
One day you will find the love of your life.
Hope:
You will accidently meet again somewhere.

Hope, stupid thing isn't it? A little hope makes you do what not. They say you should always have hopes. But when u lose hopes, that is when u face reality. Hope keeps us away reality in most of the cases, and keeps us happy little longer. Life's one of the best elements, HOPE!

Charles 'Dale' Ostrander, 12 Years-Old, Survives After More Than 20 Minutes Under Water

This is one of those stories that I can't even read. It's a miracle.

At ABC News, "Boy Survives After 25 Minutes Underwater, Rescued by 12-Year-Old Girl."

Dr. Benjamin Abella, director of clinical research in the Center for Resuscitation Science at the University of Pennsylvania, said rather than a miracle, Ostrander's survival may be due to the fact that the waters in which he was submerged were sufficiently frigid.

"A number of studies have shown that hypothermia -- reduced body temperature -- is highly protective of the brain when it is starved for oxygen and blood flow," Abella said. "The water that bathed him was certainly quite cold, and its likely that his core body temperature dropped during his cardiac arrest event."

Abella said Ostrander's age and overall health may have also factors in his survival.
Also at Daily Mail, "'He just spoke... it was amazing': 'Miracle' boy plucked from the sea stuns doctors with incredible recovery after spending 20 minutes under water."

August Birthdays

My mom turned seventy-five earlier this week. President Obama turned fifty on Thursday. And Lucille Ball would have turned 100 yesterday.

My youngest boy's going to be 10 years-old next week, but we had a little cake and ice cream party for him earlier. A few of his friends from school came over. They opened presents and played video games (the streamers are still up at top below, and not too messy). And then yesterday I took my boy down to my friend Mikey Hirsch's skateboard pro shop, So Cal Skateboards. I got him a Nijah Huston street skate for his birthday, seen at bottom. Nijah won the street Gold Medal at the X-Games last week, and my son digs him.

Updates

College re-opened, I am back to hostel. Finally, in FINAL year, a super senior, feels good. Tho, I enjoy being at home, being back in hostel, feels different. Here I have a another identity then just a daughter and sister. It's just a year left, I've no idea what I want to do next. But, I am pretty sure gonna miss this place, the silent echoing corridors, long walks from the gate, everything. Even though this year barely started, they say you never realise how final year passes away and everything comes to an end. And nothing remains the same ever. Hmmm...
Last month, I did realised that its true when they say, you make real friends in college, and those are the one's who will last through out your life. Yes, I would like to believe, I finally know who my friends are, and I am pretty sure, they will be there for me through out the life. Touchwood.
There is a busy month ahead, lot of things to be figured out, lot of decisions to be taken.
Will keep you updated :)
Till then wish me luck!
And yeah I know I haven't been writing regularly, now that I am back to normal life, I will try my best to do so.
Lots of love :)

Yosemite Waterfall Deaths

The Los Angeles Times recently ran a piece on the surging Central Valley rivers, "Central Valley rivers are flowing stronger, faster, more fatally."

I used to live up in Fresno, so a lot of the names and places are familiar. And now there's dramatic news, of three presumed dead at Yosemite, after hikers ignored warnings.

See Los Angeles Times, "Witness tells of horror as 3 swept over Vernal Fall in Yosemite":

The three were members of a group of 12 from a Central Valley church that had hiked to the top of the waterfall, said Yosemite spokesman Scott Gediman.

Ignoring posted signs and repeated warnings, they had climbed over the metal-bar barricade to get in the Merced River about 25 feet from the edge of the falls.

As Gediman recounted what happened, it was a chain reaction. First one person was swept away, then a second one tried to rescue that person and then a third tried to save the other two. All three were swept over the waterfall.

They were identified as Ramina Badal, 21, of Manteca; Homiz David, 22, of Modesto; and Ninos Yacoub, 27, of Turlock.

Witnesses immediately called rangers, and search-and-rescue teams canvassed the waters downstream Tuesday. They were back out at first light Wednesday to continue the search, but by late morning park officials said they believed the three were dead.
Also, "Search for 3 people missing in Yosemite is hampered by raging river."

Plus, at Christian Science Monitor, "Yosemite waterfall accident a cautionary tale for Yosemite visitors."

New lesson's learnt

Last five months of my life's been shit crazy. It went through lot of highs and lows. In the process learnt quite a lot of things.
  • Make your owns plans, keep your own goals.Never for anyone, no matter how much you love them try to modify your dreams and goals to suit them, cause you never know when they will change their plans and don't even bother about how you feel.
  • Sometimes your result comes bad even after doing well in the exams, that doesn't mean lose hope and STOP studying. Study atleast till re-val results are out!
  • What happens if you drink more after you are already big time drunk is not a good experiment, cause you will end up puking on the road in the middle of night and also get screwed for drinking even after telling you not to drink!
  • Sometimes telling people what you feel is better then keeping it inside. If you say it, you will get over it faster.
  • Honesty is always NOT always a best policy, especially when you know you will be in big trouble.
  • Guys will always be guys. No matter if they have a wife or girlfriend, they will never miss a chance to go to strip club nor their counter strike sessions!
  • Best thing to do when you are with a dysfunctional couple is STAY AWAY from their problems!
  • Guy who knows how to treat a girl properly in every situation has had a lot of girls in his life.
  • Some stilettos are really strong, even after falling four times on the same night they don't break.
  • Maggie and pickle is a really good combination.
  • Sometimes doing the most senseless things on impulse gives a weird satisfaction.
  • People you expect to have lots of attitude are down to earth.
  • Girls night out is always fun.
  • If you have a view of lake and coconut farm from your balcony, you have the BEST balcony in the world.
  • Being confused is fine, eventually you will figure out things.
  • No matter what life goes on.

Weird, unforgetable day.

Its been a weird day today. There was nothing that could be called normal.

Now that I have been doing things too much on impulse, I should actually stop dreaming about simpler, less complicated life. Not to forget that I pretty much slept the whole day due to the fact that I was awake the whole night yesterday and having not eaten anything today. Little sleep deprived and hungry.

On other hand my friends are graduating right now, I am in bed having the most weird feeling ever. I cannot to be happy for them, nor there is any point being upset about it.

Life is pretty much gonna change. And I am scared. Scared that I will be left alone. Also I have too many things to figure out. Uff, not a good day at all.

Just waiting for my exams to get over so that I can go home, away from everything and everyone. On the happier note there is only six days left for that.

A wierd, unforgetable day. *sigh*

Wish and Hope

Last night, I was passing my dairy around for people to write, yes, the one's you keep to read years later..to remember the people you studied with, lived with, ate with, to treasure memories..

My actual batch people are graduating in a week, starting a new life. And I will be starting my exams in two days and have a year more to go.

I still wish sometimes things were different, wish I had graduated with them!

But..they say everything happens for the best and I really hope so.

Another Ending

I met a guy; I met him in a club. I met him when I was drunk. Not exactly drunk, but yeah alcohol was controlling my thought process, and at that moment I taught I was crazy and fun to talk to the cutest guy in the club. It was just for the tonight, yes, after this night, I’ll never see him again.
But, things don’t exactly happen like you expect to, does it?
I did meet him again, not once but 5 more times.
Was I seeing him? No. where we even dating each other? No. where we really good friends? No.
What was between us? I still don’t know, and I didn’t want to give it a name.
Long distance is hard, though you keep talking every day, there will be some emptiness around you. It gets worse. Especially with couples around. So when suddenly a guy comes into your life, taking care of you and treating you in a way no one ever as, you are bound to do some stupid things. But, thankfully I have a boyfriend who understood this.
I did some things too. No I didn’t cross any of my limits. Not physically at least.
But, yeah, I did let my emotions go a little out of control. I put a lot of things on risks. I forgot, that I wasn’t supposed to expect anything. So life became a little mess, with loads of distractions.
Now, it’s over.  how?  I don’t know. The magic vanished. When I think of it, there was nothing there in the very first place. Atleast not something we could give it a name too.
It does feel weird, since it happened all of a sudden, though it took me around 3 days to realize it and accept it. It’s not like I expected it to last forever. Best thing about it, I feel like some burden is taken away from me. I don’t have to worry about anything, I no longer have to hide things, and I no longer have lie.
Yes, life’s almost normal..:)

Dull Colours

HEY everyone!
I know it’s been weeks since I last wrote. Have been busy with couple of things, nothing such happened that was worth sharing or treasuring. It’s raining heavily. Colors of life are pretty dull these days. With November rain playing in the background “Nothing lasts forever and we both know hearts can change, and it’s hard to hold a candle in cold November rain” is all I can relate to.
Only people I totally loved and cared have always cheated on me, literally-non literally. And I forgive them, though from inside all I want to say is, fuck you, didn’t you know I would get hurt? What the hell where you thinking before doing it! Yes, I’m smiling from outside, and saying it’s alright it happens, that is because I love you, but the truth is you hurt me real bad!
Yes, like you must have figured out, life’s a little mess now. A lot of mess actually. And never been this restless in life. On one side I’m trying to get over things and it’s like I’m holding on it even more.
On top of it all exams this month and next and all this shit doesn’t exactly help you with concentration.
With hopes of better days, sunshine, love and promise of a more cheerful post next time, very soon, I’m signing of today!

Phone Addiction

Nomophobia is the fear of being out of mobile phone contact. Millions of people apparently suffer from this phobia.  I was one of them.

Papa got me my first phone when I finished my 10th , even with mum constantly saying how she thought it was too early and a bad idea. Its has always been an important part of my life since then. 5months ago for my birthday, my parents got me a smart phone, my happiness knew bounds, my addiction to it grew into heights.Yes, smart phone addiction. There was not a moment where you could find me without my phone. My friends used to shout at me for that.

2days ago, I lost my phone, some fucker in college stole it. I cried like I had been caught copying and thrown out of class(I think lots of people actually thought that) It felt like the world around me ended, through out the day, I had odd feeling of emptiness, and i kept touching my pocket in the hopes of finding it. I was so badly distracted that, I couldn't write my afternoon internals, for which I had actually studied.

Now I don't have a phone of mine yet, hardly 3 people know how to contact me. I thought I couldn't manage, but I am really relieved and happy  that I am coming out of this obsession or addiction with my phone .

10 signs of phone addiction:
  1.  You use it in the bathroom.
  2. You feel a brief moment of panic when you touch your pocket and it’s gone.
  3. When you meet people with the same phone, you can only talk about the phone.
  4.  A full battery barely lasts a day.Anxiety increases as the phone battery runs low.
  5. you read about your phone on phone.
  6. You sneak to pick calls while in the bathroom, in class, while driving, in church or in very important meetings instead of waiting for the sessions to end.
  7. You can never stop scrolling through your phonebook, looking for nothing in particular.
  8. You send more than 20 text messages every day before you sleep when you can use one email to reach all of them
  9. You can’t bear to have your phone of for a few minutes and would rather keep it ringing incessantly even when in  a silent place.
  10. You use your cell phone’s calculator for the simplest of all calculations like 100 times three.
If  you are one of those people, who are like me, please try stop it, before it gets too out of control.

Saviour that night

Lying on my bed, lost in random thoughts, I remembered this story that happened to me 3years ago, and I wanted to write it down.

I was 17 when I started my bachelors, like most people of my age, I wanted to get away from home and start a new life in a new place. I joined my college hostel.
But soon after a month I badly wanted to go home, mum wanted me to come too.
After staying at home for few days, I had to leave back to hostel, and this time I was travelling alone, for the very first time.

It was night journey, and there was some guy sitting beside me, I hadn't even seen his face properly, I was very shy to talk to strangers that time. I was clearly instructed not to get down from the bus, till I reach bangalore. Half way through the journey, bus stopped for tea and other refreshments. I still don't know which place was that. I wanted to go to bathroom badly.

When I looked out, all I saw was lots and lots of buses. I got down, and looked back to see where my bus was, asked people where bathroom was and went.
After coming out, I couldnt find where my bus was. There were so many buses, and it was dark. I thought I knew where it was, but it wasn't there. I panicked, I started running around, trying to find my bus, I asked a couple of drivers, they told me bus had already left.

All my money, all my luggage was in the bus. I didn't know how to tell my papa I was lost, I had no idea how to reach. All I had was my phone with me.

I was alomst in tears, when a voice behind me said "got lost? Forgot where the bus was?" It was the guy who was sitting beside me. He had come in search of me. Before I could even answer he said " come fast, the whole bus is waiting for you" and I followed him.
Yes, he my saviour that night.

PS: I still shudder thinking what would have happend to me, if he hadn't come searching for me that night.

Of chances..

Isn't it ironic, that when you meet someone new, and you start liking them, and getting close, you expect them to behave and understand you, like the previous person did. Comparisons are though just inevitable. This happens especially in relationships. Even though you may see someone complaining endlessly about how horrible her ex-boyfriend was, but after sometime or months or year into a new relationship, same person would be wishing how her current boyfriend was like her ex atleast at some point. We start expecting things, even without trying to understand the other person, or even without giving them a chance to know you.
Is it because we are used tob the other person so much, or it generally takes time to adjust to new things. Whatever it is, relationships takes a lot of time, effort, patience, to know a person, to understand, to adjust. When all that comes to an end, all that is just waste, of no use at all. That chapter in life is over, you are never going to study that again.
Is there any point in getting into one?? Answer just varies, sometimes it's a yes, sometimes its no.

120ml of Vodka

When you think, you are becoming emotionless, arogant, careless about peoples feelings, I dont give a fuck about anyone, but its making you feel weird about yourself, then again you dont give a fuck, when someone calls you sweet and you wonder if they are refering if to you cz you havent been sweet in a long ass time, you dont feel yourself anymore, you have built numerous walls around you, so that people dont hurt you, so that nothing affects, not even when you behave rudely to them for no reason at all, if you wondering how to get back to normal? Answer is simple....

120 ml of vodka will do it!

Trust me it will, it will break all the walls you have built around you from months together, emotions that are inside, thinking they do not exit anymore, all the tears you have been holding up thinking you are strong enough not to cry, come out and refuse to stop..worst part its all happening involuntarily, you end up telling people things you would never say or else, and you have to start all over again!
Its like the reverse affect of alcohol, instead of making you happy and light it does other things to.

PS: The above advice not for people below 18!

Growing Up To Be A Girl

I was in sixth standard when for the first time in my life, a guy asked me out. I was 11 or 12 years old at that time. He was a year older then me.
My mum had put me for math tuitions. That is where it happend. To this day I do not understand why he did that, I was this thin, dark(thanks to sun hot there!) dirty girl, who used roam everywhere in her bicycle not worrying about getting tanned or anything, playing on streets, with bruises on her knees all the time, I had no sense of dressing nor cared about it, I don't even remember combing my hair or washing my face. Yes I was that bad.
No one had ever paid me any attention, nor was I bothered. I was happy in my own world and little adventures.
I used to collect these mickey mouse stickers back then, one day that guy gave me one of those with those three words written behind it. Well, I was shocked. I didn't even know something like that happens in real life. I didn't know what to do. How could anyone can possibly look at me like that?? I am not that type of girl, I am not even pretty. None of my friends had experienced it how could it happen to me?? Why me?? Those were the only thoughts that came to me back then.
Whole incident changed me. I became shy. I started taking care of myself in public, I grew conscious with guys around. That is how I probably changed from careless kid on street to a GIRL.
Makes me think..Is it necessary for something to happen, to make us change and grow up?? Wouldn't we do it otherwise??

PS: What happend to story uh?? I ended up crying, everyone came to know, and his parents were called. Usual stuff!

You!!!

From a long time, I wanted to write about you. Yes, you. I know you hate it when I do something like this. I know you don't know how to react or what to say. I know even if you read it, you will pretend like you haven't. I know you feel akward when I put you in such situations. I know how you feel, I really do. I have seen my friends go through it when someone goes out of their way to make them feel special. I always wonder why people who like it don't get it and people who don't deserve get it??? Isn't life unfair???
There are so many people in my life, so things to write about..why am I writing about you?? why do I constantly keep thinking about you?? why do I forget the world when I am talking to you?? Why do I even stop worrying about me, when it comes to you?? Why does it happen??? Does it happen to you to?? Do you feel the same way I do??
My friend  asked me.."is this love?? what is love??" I didn't know what to tell her, cause I didn't know the answer myself.
There are so many questions I want to ask, I know how you hate questions. I sometimes wonder if you were always like this, you weren't. I know. I sometimes wish I could see that you too..but I know that you is no more. You have changed.. I am not complaining, you know that, you know how happy I am. But you also know when it comes to you, I am very selfish and want everything.

PS: I didn't know what I was writing when I started it, I ended it there cz I didn't know how to end it. Hope it's not turned out to be bad!
