Aaaah you say.. 'about time' .. let's sink the boot into those huge corporations...THEY are the reason there is so much deficit around.. (speaking particularly of the US context)
Actually though, it's not *Capitalism* as in the free market economic system that we are putting on trial here, its simply graft, corruption and greed.. aided and abetted by powerful politicians which has nothing to do with the capitalist free market economy.
Let's pick on... GE !!! ooooh yes! GE that mega corporation which made $14.2 BILLION in global profits last year, but paid ZERO tax ! This is mind boggling. it's so hard to even process this.
But wait!...there's more. It so happens that GE is a favorite of the current Obama White house! oops ..errr.. but you were putting CAPITALISM on trial here.. and Obama is a 'man of the people.. the battler..the working man'...right ? errr..."no"...Obama is a man who want's to survive politically and knows that without huge corporate donations and funding.. it aint gonna happen. To get those corporate donations.. you must be *nice* to them.
